Beau Greaves: Darts sensation becomes first woman to qualify for European Tour - and doing it twice!

Beau Greaves has made more darting history after becoming the first woman to qualify for a European Tour event - and doing it twice!

Greaves will compete at the Hungarian Darts Trophy in August as well as the Czech Darts Open in September after coming through the European Tour 11 and 12 qualifiers, respectively.

In the first of those qualifiers, Greaves started out with a 6-4 victory over Andy Boulton in the top 160, and followed it with a 6-2 drubbing of Charlie Manby.

The 22-year-old then made it into the top 20 by beating Arno Merk 6-4.

It was in the crunch match against Tom Bissell that Greaves hit new heights, averaging 103.03 for a 6-4 victory that confirmed her spot in Hungary.

In the European Tour 12 qualifiers, Greaves first beat Wesley Plaisier 6-3, then averaged 96.42 in disposing of Cor Dekker 6-1, before edging out Lukas Wenig 6-5 to reach the Czech Darts Open.

It is, of course, not the first time that Greaves has made history.

Back in April, she in the Players Championship 11 final.

She also produced a stunning win over world No 1 Luke Littler at the PDC World Youth Championships last October and was already a winner of 50 plus titles on the PDC Women's Series.

Not only that, she became the first woman to hit a nine-darter on the tour back in February.

Before Greaves, Lisa Ashton was the first woman to win a tour card at Q-School (2020-21). Fallon Sherrock was the first woman to win a match at the PDC World Darts Championship (2019). And going further back to 2009, Anastasia Dobromyslova, who was the first woman to beat a male professional on TV in the Grand Slam of Darts.

Your Site is the home of darts with the World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, Grand Slam of Darts and World Darts Championship all still to come this year. .
